If it's a rebadged Hero S, than it's probably not a dual core. It would be the 1.2GHz Single Core Snapdragon. Still a pretty zippy phone though. At least, the Hero S version is.

Yup. All of the other sites are reporting this as a single core. Still might not be a bad replacement (not an upgrade) for the Evo 4G. I am still waiting for the upgrade to the Evo 4G without the 3D gimmick.

sounds more like an upgrade from the Hero. Which begs to me ask why? The EVO 4G is End of Life (or about to) which leaves customers to choose the 3D as the higher end HTC android, but not really?

if you want the dual core version, it's the Evo 3D.

This is HTCs mid level phone to go against phones like the marquee, conquer, etc..

I agree if you want a dual core Sprint device, yes go with the Evo 3D.

However the Evo Design / HeroS is not a mid-level smartphone. They are classified as upper/elite level smart phones.

Yes they are only using single core CPUs, however, they are S2 Snapdragons. These CPUs have had their FSB speeds overclocked dramatically! Benchmarks are coming out with the S2 Single Cores running just as fast as the T250 from Nvidia.

VERY nice phone! And yes...this phone is the HeroS / Desire 2 for Sprint.
