Im fairly sure Google has no desire to keep it only with Sprint and only with the Nexus but, before Google can get a manufacture to put something like that into the phone the have to know there will be a market for a product like that which is what google is creating, im sure in the coming moths you will see this start popping up on several higher end phones

The Nexus S 4G has the NFC capability required to use this feature. I believe we will start seeing this feature expand to more devices in the very near feature, but even with the Nexus S being the only device to support it, the app has over 100k downloads. Google is also loading new accounts with $10 just for setting it up.
