They don't make enough money with their ultra-high cost plans/services?

I don't know how this is even legal. What if I don't want to be bothered by Verizon's marketing partners to sell me more stuff. Certainly the Rolls-Royce of the cell phone industry makes more than enough money on their plans/services. They are, by far, the most expensive carrier in the U.S. You would think something like this comes out of Boost Mobile or MetroPCS not Verizon. Look for everyone else to follow suit now. Nice.

We have become the "default" society. Every time you buy something,use a service,or browse the web,someone is collecting all kinds of date on you by default. You would need to be opting out dozens of times a day for "opting out" to work. At this stage of the game,it's simply pointless.

lol, what? You can't opt out of the government being able to track your credit card purchases, or nail you for CP on the internet. Those things are okay. But the people collecting and sharing marketing information are relatively few.

You don't quite get it. You will not see any more ads if you don't opt out. You won't get zero ads if you do opt out. If you use an app that is ad supporte or visit a web site with paid ads on the page, you will see an advertisement. That's how the internet works. Someone has to pay for content. Either a consumer does, or advertisers do. How do you think this very site stays online? The Verizon's information policy doesn't change whether or not you see ads. The targeted advertising portion of this policy means you may be served a specific ad based on certain factors, rather than a random ad. Some people may prefer to see an ad custom picked for them, which may be for a product or service you might actually be interested in, rather than one ...
