No kidding. How I long for the days of the Toshiba-built Audiovox phones. At least they were reliable. The Thera was cool.

Its still in audiovox phone. Only reason it says Curitel is because they bought audiovox like 2 months ago and the phone was approved by FCC Q3 of last year, so its been done for awhile. I dont see this phone being any different then the 8900 for verizon, and that wasnt a bad phone.

Curitel did not buy Audiovox. They lost that bid. Curitel signed a "non-binding letter of intent" to buy ACC, but that fell through and UTStarcom bought them instead.

Keep in mind that Audiovox is not a manufacturer - Curitel is. The 8920 was made in Curitel factory in Korea. Audiovox Communications has no factories - they just represent and distrubute (and sometimes brand) phones in North America.
