Can't Keep Playing CatchUp

This is really a bad sign. No matter how well the OS performs, the perception that MS is playing catchup is going to hurt them. Long term success comes from setting trends, not following them.

They are playing catch up but, they aren't that far behind. They will make themselves known for taking RIM's place. But, as for following trends, they are following what is the trend for wireless networks. They aren't in the business of providing or creating networks, only using what's available. As for inovation, they have inovated the mobile OS. As much as many people would like to hate on MS and compare it to iOS and Android, they fell to look at what matters. WP7 is an OS that prides itself with full integration of features and not having to rely completely on apps for usability. Is the WP7 lacking in areas?
