Sprint to Use Wi-Fi Offloading Technology

They've only begun taking orders for the iPhone and they are already complaining about 'network congestion'.....I always thought Sprint was the one company that didn't have a problem with congestion....

If experience ia any guide, what begins as complaints about 'congestion' ends with cancellation of unlimited data plans.

Unlike at&t who are still trying to recover from iphone unpreparedness.

at&t had a plan, it's just that iPhone turned out to be more popular than they expected, and worse the popularity of the iPhone led to users of other smartphones such as Blackberries and Windows Mobile, to start using the data on their phones more.


Anyway, my actual point was the second part: we've seen this movie before, a carrier starts by complaining of 'congestion' and politely suggests customers switch to WiFi to reduce the load on the network...

The movie ends approximately 18 months later with the introduction of tiered data plans and the abolition of unlimited plans.
