So does that mean we won't be able to use unlocked Verizon and AT&T devices with Sprint?

Are you speaking of unlocked LTE devices? If so, all three carriers will utilize different LTE band class devices with likely little overlap.

The carriers, device makers, and chipset manufacturers all want this dysfunctional yet entrenched system to remain. For the carriers, this helps prevent churn, as subs rarely are able to use their current devices to their full capabilities on other carriers. For the manufacturers, this drives sales because subs who do switch carriers almost always are compelled to purchase new devices.

For those reasons, the FCC needs to step in and shake up the anti ...

Hmm, that's an interesting way to look at it. So how would you solve the problem of customer service that's existing right now? For example right now most reps are on commission, so if someone purchases the phone online or at another store, the reps are less enthusiast about helping those customers ,especially if someone else is waiting behind them to make a purchase.
