This is what apple does tho. They take apps that have been on the market for years that dont advertise....make there version of the app then hype the hell out of it.

Thats why they make Billions! They know how to market the top selling apps in every market

So before the iPhone no phones were advertised? Or there were just hoardes of multitouch phones which sophisticated keyboard and touch heuristics but they all failed because they werent' advertised?

Or the iPad. You mean to tell me there were tons of these Android tablets lying around just sitting in awesome sauce but they all failed because they didn't advertise? That's what killed the HP Slate, no?

Sure it would. It'd just look like a Blackberry knockoff.

Google purchased Android in 2005 and the first beta of Android was in 2006....

This is insanity. Hasn't anyone ever seen the Disney movie Smarthouse? This will end badly.

Definitely. I believe this was made in the best interest but I think it will make usage more of a hassle instead of less. I had voice command on a cell phone (I know it is primitive and I bet Siri is sooooo much better) but I found it utterly annoying and it interupted my phones primary functions

on several levels.

Android was imitating blackerry before they tried to imitate iOS.

Development doesn't count towards the "who predates who" argument because you have no idea how long iOS was in development.

Siri is "practically the same thing as Vlingo" in the same way that a Lexus is practically the same as a Kia because they are both automobiles.

Siri goes way above and beyond Vlingo by not restricting you to certain commands that it recognizes. Vlingo won't launch a weather widget if you ask "Will I need an umbrella today?".

This is an absolutely amazing feature for the iPhone 4S, and I'm not sure why there's so much hate toward it.
