Sprint Files Ex Parte Letter with FCC Over AT&T/T-Mobile
Sprint starting to get on my nerves
Is Sprint starting to irritate anyone else in regards to this, or is it just me?
It was very clear when Sprint recently said that the gov should not be opposed to all telecom mergers, just this one...leading many people to conclude that Sprint is saying, this merger is bad, but if it was us instead of ATT...
I just think it is annoying for a company, who was trying to do the same thing as ATT, is now talking about the effects less competition, when clearly that is not its concern.
Sprint's concern is itself, which is fine, but sometimes I feel like saying "shut up already" when it is com...

Perhaps you do not understand my frustration...I am anti-merger (in this case), but Sprint does not care about competition in general, but is mad that they are not going to merge with Tmo...it is the hypocrisy that irritates me...

Sprint's concern is itself, which is fine, but sometimes I feel like saying "shut up already" when it is complaining to the gov.
Dude, do you honestly not understand the difference between a Sprint/T-Mobile merger and one between at&t and T-Mobile? The difference is that with ...

The only thing I said is that it is annoying for Sprint to be saying it, because it comes across as hypocritical, being that it tried to merge with TMo, but failed to make a deal...Dude..
For the last time...I am against the merger, and I would gladly have someone stop it...it is just annoying that Sprint is making so much noise, hiding behind protecting consumers, when they were trying to merge with Tmo in the first place...
Dont give me how the mergers are different argument...I agree but it is totally irrelevant to what I am saying..
Either way, agreed, entireley against the merger. This will likely cause less selection of phones like the ones T-Mobile offers such as the Mytouch 4g (MY PHONE), and At&t says it will not raise T-mobile customers plans, What they will probably do is grandfather you into the current plan you have and if you ever want to switch you have to change to one of at&t's plans and pay more for less.
I believe At&t will not let this die. Even if the merger doesn't go through they are going to buy up T-mobile in little pieces such as they did with the Zodiac merger, it wasn't so much a mer...

Not me. I commend Sprint for this move. Yes, I am a Sprint supporter. However, I more support a large entity to help voice my opinion of blocking the merge.
The longer this fiasco carries on, the more money ATT pumps into the special interests to get the merge to push through. I'm fairly certain Tmobile would also like to see this end right now. It is getting ridiculously drawn out considering most of the facts and arguments have already been secured and fumbled through. DT is losing valuable time and money here with this proceedure.
Sprint is voicing my exact concern. Let's get this thing wrapped up and put to bed.
The Tmobile/Sprint merg...

This thread was not about would the merger be better, or Sprint's proposed merger being the same or different than ATT....It was specifically talking about a person being annoyed of Sprint's complaining, due to its motive...that is all...
And to some, Sprint's motive is obvious, which I believe would make it less effective to fight for consumer choice...but the thread really was not about that either...wow
I totally understand what you are trying to point out. What I am trying to say in easier terms, is that we should not allow Sprint's motive to be relevant to an annoyance. I fully understood you the first time.
I just don't think people that are for consumer choice and a competitive market, should allow this consistent fight of Sprint to attach itself to an emotional despair of agitation. If you are anti-merge, we must realize that Sprint must move forward with the arguments and requests whether it is in Sprint's best interest or not. We need to support it. That's all I am trying...

If I felt that Sprint's motive was to speak out for the consumer, I would have no problem with it..but it just seems hypocritical on its part to speak out at all, because it was trying to do the same thing.
Nope, your analysis is superficial.
In its merger, AT&T is trying to eliminate competition from T-Mobile and stymie competition from Sprint.
In a hypothetical merger, Sprint would be trying to compete effectively with VZW and AT&T. If a Sprint-T-Mobile merger were to be consummated, the combined carrier would still be a fairly distant third largest in the country.
That is not "trying to do the same thing."

In the context of what I was saying, Sprint was trying to do the same thing in that they wanted to merge with T Mo...Obviously its merger would be different than ATT's because they are different size carriers.. That was all I was saying...wow
Just from a standpoint of a carrier trying to do a merger, failing to make a deal, its competitor succeeding to make a deal, and then the 1st carrier's constant complaining to the gov about the merger...it seems to be some hypocrisy in that and it is a little irritating after a while. It would be far less irritating if another cell phone company, who was not trying to merge with T Mo, was making ...
