Sprint to Cut One-Year Plans from Offering

Not nesssarily. As a Sprint employee I can tell you that of my time with the company less then 1% of customers I have dealt with decided on a 1 year contract. Signing the 2 year gets you the real steep discount. If someone were to sign a 1 year agreement on a high end device, iPhone or not, all they are getting is a small fixed discount on the retail price of that device. It isn't like Sprint is taking any kind of heavy loss from this. By discontinuing the 1 year option all Sprint is doing is further simplifying things and eliminating an option that no one actually picks anyway.
