Neither does the iPhone--and my experience using Safari has been stellar.

Your conditioning to not having flash is what you have missed. I talk to countless Ios users a day and they are all happy with out flash. Its until you have a device that can handle it when you realize that its a whole new ball game.

I don't live in a cave. I've used Android and iOS devices alike. Flash isn't the smoothest plug-in on smartphones. I turned off Flash on a friend's Xoom because the browser ran more smoothly without it. Flash is definitely better in higher powered devices like laptops and desktops.

I agree that Flash on a phone isn't awesome, but by having it, at least you CAN use it if you need to. Some sites need flash. Other times, it's handy for getting around BS (like a youtube video that's "not for mobile", yet runs in the flash player in the browser). I'd rather have it and use it rarely than not have the option.

Using the browser on the iPad and the iPhone has convinced me you don't need Flash on a smartphone or tablet.
