Apple Schedules iPhone Event for October 4
This isn't a new development
Asif.
Apple on Tuesday sent out invites for an October 4 iPhone event at the company's headquarters in Cupertino.
"Let's talk iPhone," the invite reads, suggesting that the press gathering will indeed discuss the next-generation Apple smartphone.
The event starts at 10am Pacific time, and will likely feature Tim Cook's first appearance as CEO. PCMag will be there, so stay tuned for all the details.
*** Rumors about an October 4 event got started last week, when All Things D, citing sources familiar with Apple's plans, reported the date. *** The blogosphere soon realized, however, that San Francisco's Moscone Center, . . . .
When almost every single early report of this announcement were exactly the same: slating Oct. 4th for the announcement/reveal of the new iPhone(s) and iOS 5.
And before that, rumors have been all over the place, not just on October 4. People saying it would be out in September, etc.
I wish to edit my original post of "Apple announced..." since it wasn't the official announcement. But, since the info all over internet news sites coincided, it held a lot more water than the usual Apple rumors.
As I said before, what I originally SHOULD have posted was "Tim Cook was cited saying there will be an announcement of the new iPhone on October 4th."
But since you requested:
