LightSquared Signs AirTouch Communications

I doubt any of these contracts have upfront costs anyway. The whole industry knows that LightSquared is on shaky ground, and I am sure each one of these contracts have contingency clauses. These companies are probably coming out of the woodwork signing $0.01/GB deals (which LS promptly bends over...willingly), hedging that if LS actually is approved, they are flung into a market with juicy margins where they can easily compete and steal business from the big guy(s)* (*note that this 's' is bound to drop off soon the way things are going!).
Oh..wait a minute..are we talking about new entries into the market that previously had access to no spectrum that will drive up competition? HMMM! Sounds like they are building up ammunition for some sort of battle with the federal government. Look at all the innovation and competition [insert something] that could take place if approved. If big, bad FCC and a bunch of stupid pilots try to kill off LS, its going to look really bad. Think of all those lost jobs and higher prices we will have to pay if those jerks have the nerve to kill off LS's LTE plan.
I really don't care about another player in the game, but what i do find annoying about LS is their GPS filter FUD. They have every armchair EE thinking that if all these stupid GPS chipset integrators weren't so dang cheap with those crappy filters, there'd be no interference, and we'd all have $2 LTE unlimited data cards through lightsquared...heck...even our cat could have one. But no..sadly..its more complicated than that.
