Good Thing for Root and other OS'
Rooted Android users dont pay for Hotspot, therefore will probably be exempt from this...
Also, previous platforms, such as Windows Mobile never had to pay for hotspot anyways and should stay exempt also..

I wouldnt be suprised if sprint cracks down on the android root though. ATT cracked down on jailbroken iphone tethering. I believe verizon did the same for the android rooted hotspot.

Sprint will be putting a cap on the Hotspot of 5GB but the everything data plans are going to remain unlimited.

All this time I have been coming to PS nobody has ever successfully explained the difference in data consumption between a smartphone and a pc.
Webpages look no different on a smartphone than on a pc, and now smartphones have Adobe Flash capabilities, so that another thing that makes web browsing experiences even more identicle.
Other than screen size, I really don't understand the difference between the web browsing experience on a smartphone Vs. PC.

Right, because that's good for Sprint business, and they won't feel the need to do the same thing AT&T and Verizon did when they switched from unlimited. 🙄
Stealing bandwidth is inexcusable, and I hope Sprint joins the party and cracks down on those who are forcing these companies to put caps on their plans. These caps have largely to do with these individuals, stealing bandwidth they're not paying for and aiding in crippling what is provided. Selfish consumers that deserve to have their phones bricked, in my opinion. They'll moan, they'll cry, they'll get their service interrupted, they'll get charged, and everyone else will move on happy.

Of course if this was AT&T or VZW doing this analyst422 they would be called greedy.

Obviously. Money-grabbing swine, those corporates 😉

Its not the customers that hack the free hotspot feature and hack wired tethering causing these data caps. If you look at all the carrier options for unlimited minutes, carrier can no longer gauge you on minutes and want more ways to gauge you for more than you pay. Data is an unpredictable feature on your account based on how much email docs you download, music, facebook updates ect.. Data is the new overage to gauge your bill. Yes I do understand how bandwith works and can say sprint has the ability to throttle your data connection just like tmobile does.
