How about lowering the per-minute rate while you're at it? ๐Ÿ˜ณ

The per-minute rate isn't AT&T's charge, its a service fee that's passed straight through to the cust from whatever the supporting int'l carrier charges.

Companies that have connections like T-Mobile and Deutsche Telekom get better rates for being buddy-buddy. (Or subsidiary and owner)

These plans are too much for too little, yes you can do video/picture/audio but seriously $30 for 200 messages and $50 for 500? I'm happy with my unlimited internationl text plan for $10 at Sprint. Say what you want about Sprint but I have had their service for 10yrs and hardly have any issues.

Then again, one's EVO won't work in Germany or France, so, so much for Sprints $10 plan.

I work in sprint international department. first off the 10.00 texting plan you speak of is only for texting domestically i.e. from the u.s. to another country not for roaming use. secondly if you text while in another country it is .50 to send and .05 to receive 500 texts with sprint would be about 137.50 if 250 send and 250 received. In conclusion that is definitely a savings.

I didn't mean the Sprint Intl plan was meant for Intl travel even though that's what the article is abount, I meant for domestic texting outside the country. I don't give a flip about Intl travel lol.

at&t's rates for international long distance texting are quite competitive with Sprint's.

And the rates for roaming are not set by at&t, they are set by the local networks. The price that the customer pays is based on the price that at&t is charged.

Whats odd, I'm on AT&T and sent and got some texts when I was in the Caymans and Honduras and oddly they never made it to my bill, it was only like 2 or 3.

Not to mention I did some international texting the other day on Sprint and they only charge $.20/text to England so I didn't even worry about invoking their $10 international texting plan.
Nice one AT&T.

per a&t's site international Text messages from the u.s. is Sending: 25รƒโ€šร‚ยข Receiving: 20รƒโ€šร‚ยข or deducted from your domestic messaging bucket. The article is about texting while roaming while in another country, not in the u.s. texting to another country.
