What's the difference between AT&T and VZW?

Ok I've had AT&T for going on 6 years now and I've honestly never really had any network issues, now my iphone drops calls all the time, but trust me its the iphone my old BB Bold 9700 never ever dropped a single call. I think that's why most people think AT&T sucks, cause the iPhone has terrible call quality, now I've also got unlimited data on my iPhone, and a lot if people got upset when they went to tiered data, however I think its a good thing, I know I just let my phone stream all day cause why not its unlimited. But I don't understand why there isn't this big upset mob when VZW does the almost the exact same policy changes as AT&T, just 6 months to year later and no nearly as many people get upset, I just don't understand the differen...

I also agree with you about the iPhone. It is nothing more than a glorified iPod. Personally, I prefer phones with great RF and call quality. Who cares what a phone can do if it fails to perform well the basic function for which it was intended?

So do I. RF and call quality are priority one for me.
The more BS a cellphone has the more is sacrificed in regards to the necessary basics.

That's the difference.

Big Red may be who they are but at least they have the coverage to back it up. AT&T doesn't.

I don't understand what you mean they've got the coverage to back it up, back what up? What are you trying to say Verizon can be more expensive and have the same policies that AT&T gets criticized over just because they've got better coverage out in BFE? That doesn't really make sense to me, I've had AT&T and my Dad has had VZW for years and I'll do speed tests all the time, and AT&T's 3G is almost always 2 to 3 times faster than Verizon, I'll usually get about 1.5-3 mbs and the VZW phone is usually lucky to get 1 mbs. But the Verizon LTE is crazy fast, I'm about to get a thunderbolt.

The key here is that people got upset with AT&T because their change was going to set a precedent for other carriers to follow. In fact, I'd venture to say that a good amount of the pushback was also from VZW customers, because that change would pave the road for VZW to move that way as well.

Trust me, people complain about VZW policy and plan changes as well, but it just depends on the timing... plus, let's be honest, a lot of independent users on this site have disappeared. There are only a handful of people I think have meaningful postings.
