Posted on their 4g LTE Site:

"Speeds may be reduced for top 5% of users for up to 60 days when in congested network areas."

And at 4G speeds, a user will hit the data ceiling much quicker.

I smell a class-action lawsuit in big red's future.

Grow up..

To 'throttle' simply means to slow your download speed during peak hours so other people will be able to use it.

These customers will not be cut off.

They will not be charged anything extra.

They will not be in any way disadvantaged, harmed or even mildly inconvenienced.

In fact, unless you were told, you would likely not even NOTICE that you were being throttled in first place. There is simply now way you could possibly tell the difference between 5mbps and 10 or 15 mbps and if you claim you can, I don't believe it.

Nowhere has Verizon stated what the throttled speeds would be, so you have no f'ing clue what you're talking about. Who the hell are you to decide what "inconveniences" somebody, anyway? An LTE connection can burn through 2gb in no time at all and you know it. Go peddle your BS on Gizmodo or someplace that needs more trolls.

Let me shed some light on this for you. The Network Optimization only applies for those customers on 3G devices on unlimited data plans using more than 2GB of data a month. It will ONLY slow their data speeds while they are in congested areas for the time they are in that area. So for example, lets say you work in the city, but dont live in the city and are on a 3G device with an unlimited data plan using more than 2GB of data, your speeds will slow while you are in the city assuming that you are in a congested area but once you leave that area or the traffic slows your speed returns to normal. The other carriers not only slow your speeds, they also threat to disconnect your line.
