I think these carriers need to be reminded that they work for us. They are starting to act like the government. I bet if we quit using smartphones they'd loosen up a little.

they are offering the service, they don't have to bend over backwards for you. They can do whatever they want with THEIR services. Cell phone service is a luxury not a right. If you don't like it, don't sign the contract.

The contracts aren't long, reading it won't take forever, 20 minutes MAX, and that's if you are a slow reader... and no store agent is going to get angry at you if you ask to read it before signing it...

But the vast majority of complaints that customers have about their service ARE addressed in the contract, service outages, price changes, disputes over charges etc....

It's all there....and reading it is quite instructive I think.

One thing is clear: if you sign something without reading it, then you are surprised later on when something like a price increase happens, it's your own fault.

100% agreed. I wish people would read up on EVERYTHING before signing the agreement. ask questions if you aren't sure what you just read, I'm sure that agent will be happy to clarify that up for you to understand. If you don't like it, don't sign it and say no thank you. Be a grown up and make sure what you are signing is what you want to actually agree to. Do we really have to let you know that when signing that, you agreed to ALL of the info on that form, not just some of it?

You completely missed his point. He said that he did not sign up for this. He signed up for unlimited data. Certain services will not work at 1X speeds.

No, wireless companies are not free to do whatever they want to. When they promise something in writing, they cannot do otherwise without penalty.

Of course they would!

You cannot repeal the law of supply and demand.

Stop demanding it, and the prices will drop. It really is that simple.
