They say the definition of the top 5% is people who go over 2 GB. So if they go over 2 GB, they're hit with an overage and then throttled at the same time?? (If the network is 'congested')

I read it again, it's only for people on unlimited.

And even then only if the network in their area is 'congested'

I think this is a good move. Do what you have to to make sure everyone gets their fair piece of the network and good service. Some customers want everything on a gold platter and talk like they deserve it, but there are just... bad customers that no one wants. And they'll be like "I guess you don't want my business" and I wish I could say "You're right, we don't, get lost" but I can't 👀

It's more important to satisfy the 95% who aren't abusing the network than it is to appease the 5% who are...

T Bone,
I do agree, as long as the cap is reasonable. I can understand any carriers point when people are snagging 30gb or more on a mobile account. I don't when they're going after someone using 5 or 10.

Even those with 2GB aren't being throttled UNLESS they are in areas where the network is known to be 'congested'....

I take that to mean this policy is only going to be enforced in large urban areas like New York, San Francisco et al where there are a large number of customers and the network is already struggling to handle all the traffic....

If you're in the middle of a small, rural community with only 100 people using a tower....I doubt they will care even if you use 100GB....

Well, keep in mind that if you live in a rural community with 100 people, you likely don't have more than 2G coverage, so going over even 2 GB would be very, very difficult at those speeds.

What you said abiut 30gb's or more. Both 4G technologies, WiMAx & LTE have far, far more capacity than do 3G technologies. When I had Clear, I was ysing 30-35gb's/mo. 4G can handle it just fine.

I was watching Hulu @ work 😁

I'm a security guard, you know that. This isn't even a real job. Right now I'm post at a closed hotel, it's boring as hell at my job 😢 .
