Let's say you're in T9 mode and you want to type "Hello". You simply click number key where each letter is located once and as you're typing T9 will guess the word that you want. So for "Hello" you'd type 4-3-5-5-6 and T9 will guess the word "Hello".

If you were NOT in T9 mode you would have to hit 4 twice to get to the letter H, hit 3 twice to get to the letter E, hit 5 three times get the L, hit 5 another three times to get another L and then 6 three time to get O.

Text on 9. T9 just uses the numeric keypad, that's where the 9 comes from.

Here's a little about it:

Tim dependig on the type of phone you are using you might want to try "0" that usually changes your word to the next closest using the same three letters you tapped.

What phone are you using?

On every phone with T9, there is a "next word" key that will cycle through T9's second guess, third guess, etc.

It's one of the three bottom keys (* 0 #) but which one depends on the brand of phone.

The other two bottom keys are space and shift, (for upper or lower case,) but again which two keys they are depends on the brand of phone.
