I wonder....
How long it will take my mytouch4G to update to this new operating system, considering, I'm still waiting on 2.3; gingerbread! I hope they get faster at releasing these in the future!
...
Dude gingerbread has been available to you for a very long time!! And you do not have to be rooted, its an official update from T-Mobile. You might wanna go to setting\software update at the bottom and check if the update is there. If not, then you can manually update through T-Mobile.com I believe. But if you want updates sooner, you should just root that phone, I have it as my backup phone to my Nexus S and it is still one of the BEST/fastest phones around when rooted with a stock android 2.3 build. I love the Mytouch 4G. Really nice phone.

Dude yeah, Gingerbread is already available. Take your phone to a T-Mobile retail store, they might have an SD card you can put in your phone to update it. If they dont have it avaialble, go to the website, click contact us, go to live chat, get yourself transfered to technical care, and ask them to send you the over the air update.
