BB FAIL!! Storm 2 vs Torch 9850

by SFMoMentum    Sep 14, 2011, 12:01 AM

Love love loved my Storm 2, however it was sluggy, that was my only gripe. Waited so patiently and dealt with iPhone ridiculers until the monza, monaco then finally TORCH came out.

This phone sucks. Someone said it best, Its a lot of fun to "get info from" but horrible to "input info into". The keypad experience is super duper duper wack,

I was so happy to know this phone came with SURETYPE, but its not the same and when in portrait mode that little arrow that opens and closes the keyboard is a disaster. It tests my patience when im typing I cant help in anyway not to tap it and close my keyboard, the keys are small and close centered. its a disaster = FAILED KEYBOARD.

I wont even start on Landscape mode. enough said - go go gadget thumbs

Sure-press in the Storm was foreign to me yet i grew to really love it, it gave me confirmation of the key, it would highlight then i would press down the screen would click and confirmed done.

The hover on the Torch - garbage.

The Torch battery life, by about 3PM im recharging, and i do not play games or have apps. NONE not one. All i do is text and email about 200 transactions a day.

On my Storm 2, I can successfully have a great battery life day until 7Pm before I need a quick boost in battery life.

The Torch has way better Internet experience then the Storm but still not good enough to not use my home computer.

The Storm 2 internet was decent BUT i would type allllllllllll my emails from my Storm 2, to the point where I wouldn't fire up my home computer for days or weeks because ic an actually type faster on the Storm 2 then @ home.

Torch - convenience key? what a joke its an INconvenience key. Im blown away by the ***** who thought its in the right place. Such a FAIL.

The Storm 2 Convenience key was set perfectly on the opposite side so that its so easy to tap. Very nicely set.

I would REALLLLY Love to see and would be happy to pay for a Storm 3. All it needs is the Torch processor and speed in its exact design case and functions.

The Storm 2 is the best device for the SureType lovers, if you-re not familiar with Suretype, get familiar its the truth. !!

Quick tip on Suretype - try it, but while typing DO NOT LOOK AT THE SCREEN AND WHAT LETTERS ARE COMING UP, COVER THE SCREEN AND JUST TYPE AWAY, WHEN DONE REMOVE THE COVER AND FEAST YOUR EYES ON BRILLIANCE.

MoMentum -

i left the basics out, camera , video, sms, blah blah blah, those enhancements are a give, a 3.2 camera to a 5.0, whats their to complain about right? no comparison needed just do the math. Im just dealing with and ranting about a user interface and experience, Torch is a headache.

Returning it and firing up my Storm 2 until a new version comes out.

Im blackberrry for life.

i want a job with RIM to design these. I own 2 businesses and run an artists management agency. Im in the trenches, offices, airports and coffee shops. I am the one who can really tell you the real deal about user interface.
