Deception

Incorrect. Sprint would have let GSM run concurrently with CDMA until LTE is fully established. This would have given consumers another choice.

The real concern hear is the fear of power att stands to gain based on spectrum and market share. Not because they will be the sole national gsm network, that would be like to say sprint and verizon currently offer no competition to att or tmobile because they are a different technology.
However, my point on the GSM monopology, is not invalid in context as it was intended. The many concerned for a monopoly on the technology in this country, are not viewing the total scope of the landscape. But, their concerns are not without merit as well. They want choice. Sprint's intents on managing dual technolo...

Once again, people need to be reminded that the idea of one GSM carrier is stupid. First, lets not forget that Sprint wanted to merge with TMobile. If that actually happened, it would leave AT&T as the only GSM carrier in the US. But my real point is this, GSM as we all know it will be dead in a few years. The reason is LTE. AT&T and Verizon are building and launching LTE networks while people complain and moan about GSM vs CDMA and other stuff hat will no longer matter. Hell, even Sprint announced a few weeks ago that they too are going the way of LTE. So the fears of one carrier being controlling GSM have no merrit. DT wants out of the US market so why shouldn't AT&T be allowed to buy them out? Would u

I agree whole-heartedly. I have been waiting for someone to PROVE to me, how competetion is going to suffer for other carriers! As of yet I have seen no facts to convince me. If this were verizon, or sprint, tmo would have already have been purchased, end of discussion.
Exactly. I'm as liberal as they come but business is business. It's the American way and it's been this way since the beginning. Business are created for one reason is that is to make money not to spare peoples feelings.
Some of these idiots are crying that Sprint should have bought T-Mobile. Are you freaking kidding me??? Like they're better than AT&T?? Maybe in pricing plans, ok but other that they could give a flyi...

Bad decision on what? The fact that they utilized their spectrum for WiMAX because it was the only technology ready before the FCC deadline or lose their spectrum holdings? Or the fact that they incorporated LTE hardware into their base stations knowing they may make the switch? It sounds to me that both decisions were made by well thought out pro...

Are you serious? Do you realize why we have antitrust laws in place? Because historically when companies were allowed to procede unregulated we ran into issues. It's not that difficult to understand, read up on economics and history. Geez!

You're living in the past. This is 2011. It's a different America. A different world

The past? Really? Just because the antitrust laws were established in the past doesn't mean they aren't applicable today...
I don't know you personally, but if I had to guess, I'd say you're the type of person that would vote away his rights, then only when it affects you negatively will you pull a 180.
Don't get me wrong. I'm all for businesses looking to be profitable, but I am very much against them doing so unethically. And, if you think that it's in "the past", you're really uneducated. Just a simple example, look into what happened with Jamie Leigh Jones, and see if you still think that compani...
