The wording is super important on this one. ATT commits to BRING 5000 jobs back from overseas... as many of those as legally possible will be brought back with workers intact (work visas) because lets face it, Americans cost too much, thats why they took them in the first place, and outside of the salary requirement, $27,000 in background employee expenses x's 5,000? It would cost less to buy a politician, and even less still to employ foreign workers on American soil. To ramp up expenses to that tune just to grab spectrum and dismantle a competitor seems real excessive. The 2nd key phrase is they wont slash any jobs AFTER the merger is complete... TMO just slashes 2,500 and counting.. trim the fat pre merger, bring in foreign workers to meet the promised 5k while still saving by having cut more than 5k pre merger, and there you have it.
