Not surprising...

...considering how clueless Verizon is as a whole.

They're always late to the table with high-end technology. I've been holding off on my two year upgrade since 2-28-2011 because every release from VZW has been laughable. The Bionic is no different. It's a pretty lackluster device now.

The HTC Vigor is the only offering to truly look forward to. If it doesn't drop ~October 5th as expected, or at least by the last week of Oct., I'm porting my number over to a different carrier.

My Inc. 1 has gotten a bit long in the tooth.

Same here!! I'll look at the Bionic but if it's outrageously priced then it's SO LONG VERIZON!!

I agree Mac...this is crushing news.

Even though the spec sheet doesn't look too impressive, I will take a look at the Bionic. Not sure if it's a better choice than the Droid 3. LTE isn't a deal breaker for me. What about you guys/gals?

And what are everyone's thoughts on the HTC Vigor?

4G LTE
1.5 GHz Dual-Core Processor
Android OS 2.3.4
1280x720 HD Display
Bluetooth 3.0 (SIG Certified 8-25-11)
HTC Sense 3.5
Beats by Dr. Dre Audio Technology

All you guys have Verizon. Why bash them? They provide excellent service everywhere. They have better devices than the other carriers.

Simple here's why-I've had Verizon for roughly over a year now and I've always heard about dropped calls that rarely happen and great customer service and so on. Well the dropped calls stuff is BULL I've gotten my fair share of dropped calls on Verizon and I used to be an AT&T customer and made the switch. Well again I really don't see Verizon as being that MUCH better than AT&T in my area(Carolina's) and I've travelled up the east coast as far as NY. Now don't get me wrong Verizon is good just not great as the claim to be. And sure I was looking at this phone. Just do a goole and read up on it yourself and you'll see why it's going to give the Bionic some serious comp. So I figured well Verizon will get this phone and now I'm told their NOT...

You do realize that Sprint has more dropped calls than Verizon, right? To make that move for a phone that will out dated by another phone in 6 weeks in dumb. Now that I know you are prone to bad decisions, I assume you will jump ship when the iPhone 5 comes out on Verizon and then complain about Sprint.

Well let's see I had AT&T and heard that same argument and guess what? I get the SAME number of dropped calls on Verizon that I do on AT&T. It comes down to where you live and where you travel and again im my area you wouldn't even notice it!! Now concerning the I-phone it shows me just how much you REALLY know because Sprint is now offering the I-phone!! I just don't want to wait until Oct. so please DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU POST!!

You do realize that dropped calls will occur with EVERY service provider right?? This_guy was simply saying that Verizon has the least dropped calls & the most successful connections consistenly year after year. That's because Verizon owns, operates and maintains all of its towers. Sprint on the other hand leases its towers from other providers/companies. Meaning, network upgrades occur whenever the other companies feel like it, and network repairs have to be coordinated through third parties and are slow to be resolved. Sprint is bleeding to death, they offer everything in the world and still lose more customers than every other carrier, their customer service is terrible and their service sucks.

So I agree with This_guy, if you l...

Statistics like that are misleading, because even though it may true, it's ultimately meaningless because in most places the difference is negligible.....in fact, all four major carriers are within the margin of error of each other.....

To put it another way, Verizon coming out top is purely by accident. Do the same test again you'll come up with a different ranking.

Statistically speaking, all 4 carriers are indistinguishable in the number of dropped calls in the majority of the country.

Sprint owns some of it's towers, just not nearly as many as at&t or vzw. Vzw contracts with ericcsson for network maintenance/buildout btw, they don't do it all themselves.

Ah, the tired, old "tower" argument, put forth by people who think that they know what they are talking about but do not.

First, a "tower" is just an elevated structure. That term is not an acceptable synonym for a "cell site" because a tower may be used for something other than a cell site. Similarly, a cell site may be located on something other than a tower.

Dropped callls most certainly do happen on this supposedly reliable network, and last night there was no data, no 3G, or 4G in Las Vegas. Verizon is definetly overrated. People need to be more honest, open minded consumers, rather than corporate mouthpieces like a lot of people here on Phone Scoop are.

Thank you Jay-and you HIT the nail on the head!!! Slam Verizon and here comes their puppets to defend them. Again Verizon is a good company just not a great one. Sprint has come light years from what they used to be but hey no surprises here if you want to take your business elsewhere and they lose your $$$ your an idiot-Amazing
