I don't particularly care for Apple or their line up of re heated left overs they push out year over year.

But he knew how to dumb down technology and make it simple for the novice with sleek packaging, LIMITED options so the user couldn't screw it up, a steep price tag to appeal to the elite (or those who don't know any better) , and a crackerjack marketing team that could resell you the same outdated crap that you just shelled out $500 or more 8 months ago and simply because it looks slightly different with a prettier packaging YOU WANT IT and your "old" one gets sold on Craigslist for a fraction of what you paid for it.

To add, if truth in advertising was applied, the crack pot Apple marketing team would be forced to stop using the ...

Once a Snake-Oil salesman, always a Snake-Oil salesman.
This time it was technology instead of a bottle of alcohol mixed with controlled substances.

Well said.

You can't save everyone from their ignorance.

People will buy Apple DESPITE what anyone in this blog says.

When the iPhone came out there was nothing like it, Blackberry, Palm and Windows Mobile were all showing their age. Android was still on the drawing table, WebOS was too little to late for the doomed Palm and Symbian was although not dated, was not improving.

Apple raised the bar as to what consumers expect from their mobile devices, unfortunately, they raised it and left it in the same place for the past 4 years while their competition met and surpassed their benchmark.

Excellent marketing.
Everyone thinks they had the most advanced and the best on the market with Apple.

Not to say already that as is already put so well, Apple has had the same product on the market for years with the same name and little or no improvement.
They came along at the right time but lacked in further innovation.

I have an iPhone now, and will continue to use one for a very long time. There are so many apps and things that you can do on a iPhone that you can't do with any other phone. There may be other phones that have better specs than the iPhone, but they will never have what the iPhone has. Which is the eaisness of using the operatiing system. So if you don't have a iPhone or or have never used one, you can shut the F up. iPhone can kick andriod's @$$ any day.
