just like os6, it will die without being properly born. 😁

They probably will just test it on the tablets first before their handsets. This is bc its a smaller market then the handsets and if its a problem then it can be fixed and not affect multiple customers as if it were for their handsets.

RIGHT, BUT, i was just thinking about those people who would buy their 9900(700!) and the new torchs, just to be left behind a few months later by the new QNX berrys.

I would say it will be available for os7 too. RIM has always been worried bout security if their handsets which is one reason why most business stick with blackberry. They may be behind in the industry but they still popular among businesses and cooperate companies. Android still have security leaks.

RIM is not Apple, they are generally very good about providing support for older products.....even while OS6 was introduced last year, RIM was still selling lower end phones running OS 4.6....and providing regular updates.

Not everyone wants to be all hip and trendy buying the newest thing the instant it comes out.....I still have my Playstation 2 and I'm not sure if I want to upgrade to the PS3, maybe I will with the new lower price but I'm not sure.

I don't think people who buy Blackberries do so because they are looking for the most advanced and sophisticated, most recent and current, phones on the market.

But I do find it funny, when people aren't criticizing RIM for 'being behind everybody else and not embracing the next gene...

OS6 AND 7 USERS ARE NOT "OLDER USERS", THEY WILL BE IN THE MARKENT JUST A FEW MONTHS WHEN QNX BERRYS HIT THE MARKET.

Is there some reason why you can only write in ALL CAPS?

I have to say, so what? Does that fact that a new device is 'right around the corner' somehow make a fully functional device which is still being supported with apps and updates stop working?

If I buy a PS3 tomorrow, and then Sony announces a PS4 for 2012, will the PS3 suddenly stop working?

If RIM was going to suddenly pull all support for OS6 and OS7 devices you would have a point, but they aren't going to do that.

Ultimately, RIM critics want it both ways, RIM is supposed to 'catch up' to other platforms, but they aren't supposed to do that by aggressively pushing the next generation device.......

That makes no sense. Pick one criticism and stick with it.

When the ONX Blackberries come on in 2012 (assuming, which is by no means certain, that they won't be delayed 80 times between now and then) those phones will be running QNX 1.0....

When you buy version 1.0 of ANYTHING you are taking a huge risk.....

Would you rather have version 1.0 of QNX or version 7.0 of Blackberry OS? If you want to make sure you have a device that WORKS there really is no question...you go with the Blackberry 7.0 device....

It will always be flaws in anything new regardless. New phone or OS. RIM is always good in releasing updates once they test it themselves compare to other manufacturer's. Plus they still will keep older OS up to date. Me personally I am a Android user but I was once a blackberry user. Blackberry Tour that is was my last phone tho.

Yes, RIM is good about providing support for products well beyond the normal upgrade cycle...

That is why the argument 'don't buy a OS 7 device because they will be changing operating systems soon' doesn't have merit....you can be certain will continue to support a Blackberry 7.0 (or even 6.0) device through your 2 year contract period and beyond....

it has merit if you are comming from android, ios or windows, if you are a bb freak, then it doesn't matter 😉
