I've been using the phone for about 2 weeks now... the clock is easily accessible by pushing the voice command button.
and for your second question, no it's just like a regular phone where all you need to do is push the "send" button again, if your keys are locked, you push the voice command button then you push the "send" button and you will connect, to get back, same deal.
