webOS's future: it can live on as an android overlay

Here's what needs to happen. HP should release webOS to any manufacturerwho will use it. I'm thinking LG would be a prime candidate. They could take webOS and turn it into an interface overlay to run on their android devices. This would keep the look and feel of webOS alive, which is what people loved about it in the first place, while allowing it to access the biggest competitive edge android has going for it: the apps, lack of which was a serious downfall for webOS devices. LG makes all sorts of electronics and appliances. By incorporating webOS into other things besides phones, such as tvs, fridges, washers, dryers, anything and everything LG makes, they could be a great partner for HP to bring their goal of using webOS on an ecosystem of...

WOW-I like this idea; don't know if it's technically possible but sure makes sense to me. My idea was to have WebOS live on by being incorporated on a tablet by Amazon; they would have the deep pockets to make it happen.

I think HP's actual plans are to use WebOS is to license WebOS for use in consumer electronics devices such as Blu Ray players, video game consoles, DVR's etc....

I think they will also be using WebOS on their more advanced printers.....

This is basically what IBM did with OS/2, and it worked out quite well.
