Actually, the software may very well be sold off. I must agree with Bluecoyote. If a handset manufacturer were to purchase WebOS, I think HTC would be the best candidate. I like HTC for what they have become. I have been a perpetual HTC advocate and like it just the way it is. However, having its own identity with a secondary choice, would ante up the parley.

Also, while I understand the lack of app development for WebOS, it is amazing how dependant society has become on apps. My honest opinion is that WebOS is currently untouchable other than lack of apps. That is too bad. Because I don't feel the need for 200,000 apps. If I have 20 daily used apps, I think that is sufficient.

I really love WebOS and feel HP continued the legacy of failing the platform. HTC has the tenacity, better mobility hardware and product experience than HP. They also have the continued revenue to leverage the attraction for WebOS. HTC has done everything right in the last 4 years. Considering they have no other divisions like their competitors, HTC has graduated to premier status in the wireless industry. I do feel HTC can polish the terd of perception for WebOS.
