HP Decides to Kill Off webOS Devices, May License OS
This is good news
Unfortunately, just like O/S 2 was superior to Windows but died due to a lack of applications, WebOS will die due to a lack of applications despite technical superiority.
While the hardware wasn't that good, it was the webOS interface that I found horrible. It was lightyears behind Android and IOS in terms of the user experience.
One thing that really sucked was the omission of an Onscreen keyboard. Users are forced to extend and use the physical keyboard for ALL input.
Web OS is beyond light years ahead of android!!! 😎
It didn't do well because of the lack of apps and wrong timing. I think what you experienced was "The learning curve."
This is a learning curve to OS that is sophisticated as webOS with all the new swipe gestures and etc. You admittedly said that you got your hands on one kind of leading me to assumed that it was probably something you had in your hands for less than a week. Now if you didn't play with this device for at least a week or more, than how can you truly make a good review of the phone. Hardware yes I agree sucked and the phones themselves were all ugly to me, but the OS is on a whole other planet.
webOS sucks. It's got nothing on Android. Tasks that are simple to figure out and do with Android are either not available or buried somewhere with webOS.
For example, deleting a Bluetooth device that was paired. Or deleting all contacts. Or any number of tasks that should be simple.
