I use the $10 for 1000 messages i try to save everywhere i can. But now this sucks for those coming to ATT. ATT is taking away options so they can increase their profits since they are slowing on growth.

This is just so ignorant.

No one 'raises profits to increase profits', least of all because that isn't how it works. Higher prices don't just automatically guarantee higher profits.

And I love the way that people condemn at&t for doing something, but when other carriers do the exact same thing, no one complains.

I disagree with your last sentence regarding no one complains when other carriers do the same thing.

I realize this is slightly different but when Vzw eliminated the one year contract a few months ago a lot of people complained.

Text messages are some of the cheapest features that carriers offer. Each text message sent costs fractions of a $.01 USD. AT&T is profiting greatly from the subscribers that have the $10/1000 txt plan. Now new subscribers that would've gotten that plan are going to be paying $20, presumably for the same amount of txt's that they would be sending. Any way you slice it, Texts are huge moneymakers for carriers, whether you go to a pay per use or pay for a plan.

This is nothing more than a move by AT&T to increase revenue, no matter how you spend it.

And if you think that people don't complain about every change that a wireless carrier makes then you obviously haven't been ar...

You got that right. I'm an ATT Blue customer for the past 7 years. I did my 2 yr requirement, then went on a month to month basis. I've been paying $43 including taxes for 2 phones with 1000 minutes.

Now ATT is closing down the system that my phone runs off of and saying my phone won't work on their new system (3G). Well that's a lie because I loaned my phone to my graddaughter to use temporarily when her's broke and she put her 3g card in and it worked and even did an upgrade to my phone, when ATT kept telling "me" there were no upgrades availale.

So now with the forced switch I have to choose a new plan, they broke their part of th contract, so to get the same service I had before I will be got from my $43 per month to $80 per mon...
