International Roaming Question.

Hey, Rich...will you be able to pop a prepaid SIM into this puppy once you're overseas? Or will you have to roam on whatever networks Verizon's made international roaming agreements with?

muchdrama: verizon/cdma doesn't use sim cards (sim cards are exclusive to gsm carriers).

I honestly don't know. If I had to guess, I would say it probably comes locked, but that's just a guess.

It definitely does have a SIM card slot for the GSM part. That much I know.

The only SIM cards that are able to work in the Global Phone currently will be VZW post-paid SIM cards. If a colleague has their own VZW SIM card and needs to borrow your phone, they can pop it into the phone and all calls made with that SIM card on GSM mode will bill to their account instead of yours, however prepaid SIM cards or SIM cards from international carriers such as Vodafone will not work in the a790 at this time.
