Not to mention tons of other smartphones at $200 and below do much more than any BB priced above $200.

Like I said in my original post, RIM has been falling off a cliff for the past 18 months, so yeah, good luck RIM.

I'm curious...If you add LTE which would cut the battery life in half making it level with Android phones would this be considered a major victory for RIM?
Even Apple is staying away from "4G" at the moment.

Even.if it was LTE, RIM still has a very, very long way to go.

I like RIM, but personally I think they screwed up playing around with the Playbook tablet instead of working on their phone lineup. The QNX OS should have been ported over to their phones first.
Dumb move,
That being said, I am actually glad RIM or even Apple aren't the first on the block with every feature like LTE. Both are pretty concerned with power management and a lot of 4G Android users are married to their wall chargers.

Yep, you can count me in that group. I have an extended battery for my Droid Charge, 2600mah's, and I still bring my charger with me to work.

I still LOVE my blazzzing fast LTE speeds. It sure is nice to be.able to watch news videos without it having to stop constantly to load.

It wouldn't help the battery life, but extra features would at least help to justify the cost to the customer.

I don't need to list the Android, Apple, and even Windows or Palm phones that can run circles around this one for a LOT less money. C'mon Blackberry, if you want this thing to move, it has to break the $100 price barrier.

Not to mention it doesn't have flash, nor an 8Mp camera, or auto focus. This is crapware personified! The same lame 9000 series design, with a postage stamp-sized screen and a toy-like browsing experience. The OS7 is a Storm refresh. To add insult to injury, Verizon, probably will not carry the touch screen 9860, further alienating Storm owners who might have moved up to that lame device.

The OS will be obsolete within 6 months. Developers won't bother writing apps for this platform. RimJob is showing its true colors. The 4.7OS, around for almost a year and truly pathetic, is indicative of a company that has no clue!

I'm just really shocked Verizon has the nerve to charge this much!!! There are smartphones better than this as low as $99!!!

No need to get so excited. This phone will mainly appeal to corporations--who get it at a steeply reduced price...sometimes as low as $99 per unit.

So I guess selling more phones and increasing your profit share makes you falling off the cliff?

We're talking about Blackberry, who has been selling less and less phones the past 18 months, not more.

I thought they were selling more but the competition was selling even more than RIM which makes it appear as if they are selling less. I know they are losing market share here.
