We all saw this coming...but I didn't expect it this fast. Hey, Rich...is this going to be on a prepaid level like Virgin, or are they going to offer monthly plans?

I'm pretty sure they will offer monthly plans. Qwest (another Sprint MVNO) is probably a better analogy than Virgin. Like Qwest, part of AT&T's goal here is to offer "one-stop shopping" for communications, including both traditional long-distance and wireless, on one bill.

AT&T needs to offer that kind of bundling to compete with SBC, Verizon and Sprint (and I'm not talking about wireless). AT&T had that kind of deal with AT&T Wireless (even though they were separate companies) and they need a way to continue it.

A lot of these bundling deals are aimed at businesses, who would never in a million years go the prepaid route (unless the pricing were dramatically different).
