Seriously, who told Motorola that tgey could build smartphones?

Before now their only attempt at a smartphone was the MOTO Q and Q9C, before that was the overdone Razr line (not a smartphone but their only discernable success since the STAR TAC.

They all come preloaded with manufacturer and carrier BLOATWARE ie MOTOBLUR. They are for the most part thoughtlessy engineered pieces of crap that are a cheap knock off of what their competitors have already done. You would think since GOOGLE created then GIFTED the OS to them (Android) by making it freeware that they would of spent more time on developing the hardware. But no, they jumped on the Android bandwagon and spent development money on advertising and licensing of Lucasart's Droid name because they were just that insecure about their inferior equipm...

Seriously, your actually bashing on Motorola cause of the windows based Moto Q series from 4 years ago!?!?! When it comes to Android platform phones, Motorola is simply leading in the terms of specs/quality. No droid is perfect but since 11/2009 the Droid lineup with Motorola exceed what the other manufacturers have brought to the table. Please think through your post before babbling online, k , thanks. Seems like you woke up from cell phone land circa 2006 and decided to post.

They have done NOTHING since the Q and Q9C which was 2008 ... 3 yrs ago not 4.

Motorola is clearly riding off of its name and the name of Lucasarts....

HTC has clearly set the benchmark for Android hardware.

So the Motorola Droid (which didn't have carrier bloatware OR Blur) which debuted 11/06/2009 seems to be AFTER the subpar phones you mentioned. You simply are WRONG - accept it and quit babbling. Thanks.

You are the only one coming to Motorola's defense.... Even more telling is that no one has debated my jab at Kyrocera and to me both companies are lateral in their quality of equipment....

Well in the matter of personal opinion you can believe what you want - Kyocera has always been the trash of the market. That being said, Motorola does (on occasion and the Moto Droid is an example) put out quality equipment - That being said that particular phone lasted me nearly 2 years, which is unheard of for me. Its really their software (read: blur) that is crap, not the hardware.

So I take it that you won't be getting the Zio or the Echo by Kyrocera nor will you camp out in a tent by your local Best Buy to get the Kyrocera tablet slated for release later this year......

Well we can atleast agree that MOTOBLUR is total crap.

LOL. Does Hell go with no? You couldn't give me either of those (plus I refuse to have Sprint so they get a double whammy)

The original Motorola Doid can hardly be considered Motorola's best (it turned out to be a p.o.s after about a year but it was their first stab at the smartphone and they still knocked it out the park) but there is always room for improvements and they have exceeded those. Have you seen the Motorola Droid X? One of the hottest phones out and it is not even a 4G device. I will agree with the HTC comment. Granted some of the phones could use some work as far as battery life is concerned. What good is a smartphone when it dies on a regular basis? Again, there is always room for improvement and they have before and will step up again.

I have used the HTC EVO from the day it was released in June 2010. Battery life is a challenge with ANY smartphobe. As people don't purchase a Navigator or Escalade for their fuel economy they by it for what it is and what it can do.. Hell, I could get an LG rumor touch with 6+ hrs of user operating time on one charge... But ill keep my EVO .. I got the oem exteneded battery for it I get a full days useage out of it now and I don't use a car charger as I believe the irregular voltage off your vehicles alternator burns up your battery and motherboard and severly cuts down the life of your phone. To add, I am a heavy-duty user streaming Pandora through my car stereo and watching Netflix during the day matter of fact I used 45 GB last month.

Here is some first hand experience instead of "babbling" as you say. I had the original Motorola Droid, it was my first Motorola, and my first Android smartphone. And it was absolute crap! Eventually I wasn't able to unlock the touchscreen because it wouldn't recognize my finger swiping. The charging port was very unreliable. I am done with Motorola like a bad girlfriend!!!

Ugh its 9:15 am, just where would I get a cheese burger? Shouldn't tease a MadFatMan like that! Seriously.

A sack of White Castle Sliders sound good and so does a Motorola Droid Smart phone until you buy it and are locked into a contract after 14 days and are stuck with a 2 GB cap unless you're willing to go $50 for 5 GB , $80 for 8 GB or $100 for 10 GB that above and beyond your cell plan ... That's A lot of cheeseburger money..... Fries too!

There are actually 2 Droid smartphone not made by Motorola. The Droid Incredible (HTC), and the Droid Charge (Samsung), and I beliece it's Vzn that licenses the name Droid, not Motorola.

I am intrigued. I was under the impression that motorola made some nice pieces of hardware. I have read reviews on the newest Photon 4G and all I hear are good comments.

The photon is an EVO reboot with minimal enhancements. Just go with an EVO 3D if you're on Sprint its got a 1.2 gigahertz dual core processor.... Plus the next gen HTC sense UI

Maybe not selling in a dictatorship of a country was the reason they felt they could make phones however they wanted.
