3G on GSM KRZR?

I wonder, will the GSM KRZR come with HSDPA or something? I assume that when it comes out late this year or early next year, It will be through Cingular Wireless, which has made a strong push on their 3G network. Soo, you'd think it would support HSDPA or something no?..

Either way though, im very excited for the KRZR to arrive.

Hmm, I bet it'll cost like $300+ when it does.

🙄 Sho, I'd pay that much.

No. The GSM KRZR is strictly 2G (for now).

The new HSDPA phones are the RAZR XX and RARZ MAXX. The versions announced today are only for Europe, Asia, etc, but in theory one of those could get a US version.

I doubt it would be both, so I hope it's the MAXX, because the XX looks exactly like the first RAZR - right down to the old keypad style... weird.

The MAXX is pretty sweet. It's the RAZR V3x successor, but it's much smaller - almost as small as the original RAZR.

Do you have pics of the RAZR XX ? I haven't seen any. Why are there no pics? Is the XX quad band?

The XX is not very exciting. It looks exactly like the original RAZR, except with a larger camera pod in the hinge, to accommodate the second camera for video calling.

Here's a photo, though:

That links shows me a RAZR with a tattoo. That's not the XX.

Moto is showing it as the XX on their site. I believe you though since you were there.

No. Both the RAZR MAXX and RAZR XX are GSM 900/1800/1900 + WCDMA 2100. That's why they can't be for the US at all (at least the versions announced today).

Here's some news from PC Mag...

The RAZR itself has been pumped up into two new models: the RAZR MAXX and the RAZR XX. Both use the high-speed HSDPA network that Cingular is building; while Cingular's frequency band isn't on their spec sheets, Motorola spokesman Jason Gordon said that omission was an error. Both have stereo Bluetooth, MicroSD memory card slots, and high-res 320-by-240 displays inside. Both also use powerful ARM11 processors, and they feel noticeably faster than previous RAZR models when stepping through menus or flipping through photos.

Nice Article! ... Anyone have any idea if the RAZR MAXX and/or the CRZR will be offered by Verizon?

If so, any guesstimates on pricing for each phone, and release dates?
