Lets just hope its not too late. I hope not because the more choice and competition then the better it is for us consumers. Depending on when this comes out, I might get this with Sprint. I will be debating on this or wp7-nokia (Hoping they even come out with a Sprint device)

Sprint should be getting the 9850 I believe with minor differences.

Why not Storm 3?? Or if not that, why not something completely new if their afraid that name has too much negative baggage. It makes no more sense to call this a Torch than it does to call it a Bold! Poor, confused RIM.

I thought it might be called the "Touch" for a while which I think is worse. Storm 3 has too much baggage in my opinion.
RIM had several phones with the name "Curve" also though with basic and more advanced models showing up. I guess they are doing this type of thing with the Torch.

They should have taken the Storm and the Torch and merged the names. Lantern maybe ? I would buy a Blackberry Lantern. Sounds awesome. HIRE ME!!!

To better answer your question according to what I saw here, the "Torch" branding is being used for "full touch screen experience" devices from RIM at the moment. Even though the other Torch is a slider, it can be used with the keyboard hidden.
