This will only make the experience better for all att data users. This is a smart thing to do. really there is no need for that much usage anyway with wifi being everywhere. No reason to have unlimited data plan anyway. unlimited is overrated and nobody should be streaming anything over cellular data network anyways. 🙄
...
right! you keep telling yourself that.
...
You, sir, are damaged.
...
Dude. Are you serious or just 46 years old? More and more media is becoming mobile, and who the f**k wants to tether themselves to their house to get decent Wi-Fi?? Cause you sure as hell aren't gonna find it at the golden arches. That crap is barely YouTube-capable.
...
Your right about more media becoming mobile. I have the FOX NEWS, CNN, and MSNBC Android apps on my Samsung Droid Charge. I get news alerts quite frequently, and I watch news videos quite often.

Seriously! At&t is dropping some serious coinage creating all of these hotspots that are throttled at 300 - 550 mbps everywhere i've used them. Maybe they are getting you used to being throttled back. Your point also about everything going data, and intensive enough to command technology like LTE, goes to show how illogical these data caps are.
...
@ ken 6271, its people like you that started this whole money sucking tiered data thing. If the networks can't handle it the what junk equipment are they spending our hard earned money on?
...
Im just saying that its hard to go over the caps anyway..the tiered pricing is reasonable...all smartphones come with wifi capable to lift the burden of the network...all carriers are not building there networks for the purpose to allow these types of data usage for unlimited. have you seen verizons tiered pricing vs att pricing..verizon pricing is horrible for tiered data. get used to it with mobile phones..going tiered pricing.
...
Everything in your post is blatantly false, or contestable as an actual matter of fact. You have much to fear, Mr. AT&T Salesman, when your network admits indirectly in its' presser that its' network is **** without acquiring another network. I'm optimistic: I believe the consumer will win this day. After this, I'm looking into Sprint as a serious replacement now. Come October, if my speed is throttled, I have no use for their data package. It's a glorified iPod at that point. I'll drop them and my 9 (!) lines and go to Verizon. All things being equal, at least the service is better.
...
Wait are you going to sprint or are you going to verizon?
And just how do you use 60 gb a month on a mobile device?
...
Good idea. Verizon's unlimited plans are awesome and will last forev...wait, what's that? Verizon's switching to tiered data this summer? Oh. My bad.
...
There is even talk that dsl and cable companies may go tiers for data...
