Been with AT&T for 5 years, but it's the devil I know. Where could it possibly be faster than Verizon?

really?

like...most of the US. Verizon's 3g barely qualifies as edge in most of the country. The only places they compete in terms of speed is where verizon has 4g.

My infuse, I consistantly get around 5mb/s while on 3g.

My sister on the other hand who has the thunderbolt was having trouble hitting the 1mb/s mark on 3g.

endgadget's carrier review recently said the same.

...That really must depend on where you are at geographically. I had our yahoo rep come into the store yesterday with his ATT inspire, and his HTC Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt was doing 18 Down 16 Up his ATT on HSPA+ was doing 3 down and 1.5 up

Well duh. The HTC runs on LTE, the Inspire is only HSPA+. The inspire speeds you speak of are HSPA speeds, not HSPA+ speeds.

nope... this was on HSPA+ I watched it was pretty funny to see. LTE is faster than HSPA+ from all of my experience but 4g is still new in my area so LTE hasn't been flooded with users yet

Of course LTE is faster than HSPA+, I don't understand why you're so surprised. That's not an apples to apples comparison in the least.
