AT&T Customers Sue to Block T-Mobile Aquisition
what a bunch of idiots lawyers!
this merger will force att customers to pay higher prices?
att can raise their prices anytime with or without the tmobile merger!
With one out of the way, it would be less to worry about.

Three major carriers will not lessen competition. There are still plenty of smaller carriers that can step up to the plate and spark more competition.
That's a terrible statement because that statement depends entirely on your location. There are some locations with very limited competition as it stands right now.
There is a reason we have antitrust laws out there. It's not some myth, it'
It's not some myth, it's been proven before that companies will operate in their best interest (which is fine), in an unethical manner (which is not fine). If it is all just bologna then AT&T would not have been broken up back in the 80s.
And, I do agree. The merger does not guarantee that prices will go up. In fact, not having the merge go through does not guarantee that prices will go down. There is no way to guarantee that. But, it is logical to say that it is far more likely that AT&T will be less competitive if they gain this merger than if they don't. Does that necessarily mean a price increase? No, and it doesn't have to. It could cause stagnation, which is also bad.
With that being said, if a couple of these smaller carriers invested in GSM tech and offered competitive rates, they could easily fill that void. Customer base would grow because there are plenty of people who gravitate to them. Besides, I realize that LTE is still far from being the norm but, it will not be long before it is and a few of the top smaller carriers are starting to invest in that LTE. So, in the end, will GSM really matter all that muc...

Also based off past Merger's (Cingular and AT&T) (Sprint and Netxel) (Verizon and Cell-One) what will happen is you'll keep your same price plan until your contract expires or you change on your own. The meantioned mergers also offered upgrades to people that -just- got phones to get them on there price plans.
So every T-Mobile person that wants to goto AT&T will have a new phone available to them doesn't sound like the end of the cell world as we know it does it?

Verizon just aquired national carrier Alltel. The deal was finalized just last October. They acquired 20+ million customers.

Alltel was a Regional Carrier providing service to 34 of the 50 states (service to the other 16 states was through roaming on VZW and Sprint) and they only acquired 12.9 million customers. They were forced to divest about 130 service areas.

I LOL'ed extensively reading your post. The title of your thread when compared to what you wrote and your apparent inability to communicate above the fourth grade level provided me with a few minutes of good entertainment.
So Mr. Pot, have you met my new friend Mr. Kettle?
