Can someone explain this article?

There have been some on this site claim Verizon Wireless & Verizon Communications are NOT the same companies. And yet Lowell McAdam can go back and forth from Vzm Vzn Wireless & Verizon Communications so easily. Certainly appears to me their the same company.

So not a seperate company, but a subsidiary? Of course it's hard to unerstand when they BOTH have Verizon in their name.

Verizon Communications and the UK's Vodafone own Verizon Wireless just like SBC and Bell South own AT&T.
