Stubbornness is so annoying...

Apple is so stubborn to block jailbreaking that it constantly leads to these issues.

People seek out ways to jailbreak their device (the easier the better). Then, malicious people come in after vulnerabilities are known and do bad things. I'm not saying there won't ever be any malicious people out there discovering security holes, but when you have people seeking out security holes merely for the fact of jailbreaking a device it's just more resources looking that would not normally look!

Cat and mouse guys, cat and mouse. A new (and easy) way will be out within a week. Geez.

From Apple's perspective, jailbreaking is all about the money. They make tons of cash on apps sold through the App Store, and, since jailbroken phones don't have to use it, they lose that exclusive source of revenue. At that point, anyone--Amazon, for instance--could set up a competing place to get iOS apps, and, given Apple's often arbitrary approval and rejection policies for apps, you can bet that a third-party repository would be far more interesting.

🙄 Dude...Apple IS A BUSINESS! THEIR POINT OF EXISTENCE IS TO MAKE MONEY. When did people stop understanding what a business is? Anyways, Apple sealed a security hole...there were other issues than blocking a jailbreak (which is technically a hack using that security hole
). I have jailbroken my iphone through many updates over the last couple of years and honestly, a jailbroken iphone does not perform the same as a normal iphone. After jailbreaking from ios 3 through now, appearances vs performance...i take performance. Stop complaining! Jailbreak and dont update, otherwise update and use the crappy apps they offer you. Only other option is to get an Android, WebOS or Windows phone 7 and who wants those? Oh wait, I have an Inspire for ...

"Realize that no phone is perfect and buy what meets your needs."

Very funny posting but well said as far as what I am quoting you on. I love Apple, I am a graphic designer and have everything Apple except an iPhone because of its limitations. Although I had to buy third-party software to be able to plug my Android into my Mac, I don't mind because Android gives me more customization options than the iPhone. Furthermore, I can click-and-drag things onto my Android as it is recognized as a mass storage device, something iPhone does not do even on a Mac. So I will use an analogy from the past, "if you don't like what you see, then change the channel." I'm sure you all understand what I'm saying.

It's a very stripped down version of photoshop for basic editing, nothing really crazy. It's just like the iPhone version I would assume.

Personally, I prefer Foxy Editor lite over PhotoShop lite. I love the editing tools. However, if you prefer PhotoShop, the lite version is free from the Android Market as well as Foxy Editor lite.

Actually, from the people that do the jailbreaks have said that new jailbreaks will be a bit more complicated as they closed one of the holes that they have used. They will still find a way, but it will take some time.
The hole that they just patched was supposed to be fully patched, but Comex still found a way..the guy is truly amazing at what he does. Apple should hire him.

Jailbreaking is possible due to SECURITY EXPLOITS. If you can go to a website to jailbreak your phone, a hacker could set up a website to hack your phone. That's why Apple plugs these holes. Now of course we do know Apple is no fan of Jailbreaking, there is some rampant piracy going on in the jailbreak community, but Apple's bigger concern is protecting their customers from security exploits.

The guy who released Jailbreakme actually released a patch after you jailbroke your iPhone or iPod or iPad that would close the exploit so your device can't be hacked through that security hole. It was out as the jailbreak was released. The jailbreak community isn't all bad that the media and Apple portrays it to be..

You completely missed my point. My point was that malicious hackers have to do less work to find security exploits because the jailbreaking community is finding the security holes for these hackers.

If Apple would not have locked down the device in the first place, but instead offered a way to...
