However I can't count the times I've heard a customer say "That store told me no roaming anywhere in the USA" (meaning anywhere on that carriers network!) So the misinformation at the POS is acurate but not reading their bills or knowing the plans is B.S. If the customers are not able to read their service plan and agreement. Then dial 1-800-ABCDEFG (Hooked on Phonics!)
I have been both customer care and retail and I believe that the customer just wants their phone to work the way it was sold to them that it would.
Unfortunately retail salespeople will say many things to customers either out of misunderstanding or just to help make the sale. Even in the store I am in we must constantly listen to our people in order to make sure the customer's expectation when they leave the store equals reality when they get their bills.
Add to this the fact that for most carriers the "free" phones and low end plans are what is rec...
