Apple Presses Court for Faster Trial vs. Samsung
Apple is feeling threatened
I also like the condom comparison. If you look at LCD TVs, cell phones, laptop computers, air conditioners, etc., etc., they all tend to gravitate toward a similar look and feel. They are all generally accepted form factors. So you could argue that the tablet is now another form factor, like the desktop, like the laptop, etc.
I think this is likely the tac...

Sorry but Samsung makes cheap iPhone like Android devices. Everyone in the industry was waiting for Apple to sue Samsung because it is just so blatant on how Touch Wiz for android is a rip of iOS's interface. Stock android is very linuxy and even HTC has its own feel.. Samsung's UI is a bad imposter with no originality. Just look at their app page. It is done in the App page style of iOS with the same dots representing pages except with one difference... The dots are on TOP.
As for LCD TVs samsung has their Smart TV's patented and damn well makes sure that Sony, Sharp, LG, Toshiba, and what not do not make TV...

Look at iOS 5, you could say a ripoff of BBM and Android stuff, that's ok.... Let RiM or Google do that to Apple and see how fast Apple tries to take them to court.
Apple takes things other phones have done for months to years and tries to pass them off as their own ideas.
Do you see nintendo suing sony? Sony "move" looks alot like Wii!
Do you see Mercedes suing hyundai? Some hyundai cars look alot like Mercedes!
I actually am testing tablet devices for my job and have looked at all of them out there. Samsung is by far the best. iPad 2 is a great device, it's just too locked down.
They are threatened by Samsung, and have chosen this company to sue because of it. There are many other similar tablet and phone makes out there (Acer, HTC, Motorola) and their products look similar as well, but Samsung's 10.1 has touched a nerve because it's a great device! And I doubt you own one, Lolli. Ha ha.
Again I doubt you own either as I do WORK for Verizon and test both and make training classes for RTT. For the average customer the statement that a device "is too locked down" is the stupidest statement ever because the average consumer who buys a device DOESN'T care.
Thirdly, there is noone that has seen an iPad 2 and a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and not said "This looks like an iPad 2.". Reason the Galaxy tab 10.1 is a blatant ripoff of its UI and form factor. Before you say "They all have the same form factor" anyone with eyes can see the difference between the Asus...

Personally, I think patents are antiquated and obsolete, so this whole circus seems like a huge joke. Sadly, the joke's on us as consumers.
All in all, your statement sounds like typical Apple-drone fanboy talk. Apple has been ripping off ideas, just like Mircosoft, since the beginning. Xerox was their first victim and there have been many since.
Yet some people still swear that is heresy to even speak out about Apple.
So let me get this straight, you work for Verizon yet you are defending one of the brands Verizon sells (that being Apple) and totally trashing another (that being Samsung). Wow, I would really hate to be part of your training classes as you would so skew your trainees and get them to the point all they sold was Apple. *sigh*
I don't care about who ripped off who in the past. We are talking about samsung making their products to look like apple's. So your defense is "hey in the past apple and microsoft stole ideas!" is not a valid defense. Does the galaxy tab 10.1 look exactly like an ipad2? Yes! Does the ui look like apples ui? Yes. So what is your argument other then you hate apple? You have yet to dispute that apple isn't right intact in a court case you would be perfect for them.
As for hating being in one of my trainings. Yes you would hate it ...

I don't think anyone serious about an iPhone or a Samsung is going to make the mistake either lollipop. While they look similar, their operational features and aesthetics are very distinquishable from each other. They are not exact. Individuals will purchase on what the device offers for that person's taste. As an individual plays around with the device, the bonding union begins in determining what that individual chooses.
I'm annoyed at Apple bringing a phrase "Blatantly Copying" to the courts. It's not spelling out "Infringing on our patents". Just a childish playgro...

You should actually learn copyright, trademark, and patent laws. Anything that has been filed under those three must be defended otherwise the process is invalidated.
No we shouldn't, as we have better things to do. I highly doubt you have any more knowledge of patent/trademark laws than what you have gleamed from this and other news sites and blogs...nice try though. Its also a bit of a stretch to say that they "must" be defended or the whole process is "invalidated". It is a recourse, but it is by no means a requirement.

As for the moron with the idiotic statement that Hyundais look like mercedes.. What planet do you live on? No one is going to mistake a Hyundai Genesis for a Mercedes E350. Nor is anyone going to think a Tiburon ora Genesis coup looks like a Mercedies SL550/SLK350.
Might wanna check out the 2011 hyundai eqqus, it's a blatant rip-off of the S550 and anyone with eyes will know it's a hyundai, but think it looks identical to an S550 aside from the badging.
hahaha....man...I'd hate to be one of your poor coworkers, or one of your trainees
iPad 2 is a great device, it's just too locked down.
LOL!
Locked down to what? Your job cares about changing the color of the tablets icons or putting a "really really sick skin" on their professional devices?
What does your "job" want to do with tablets anyway? Spreadsheets? Word processing? power-point? Do they want security? remote wipe? Do they want a tablet with outstanding battery life? One that doesn't crash or a tablet that actually has a useful suite of apps to choose from? Do they want stability and speed?
If you said yes to ANY of the above (except maybe battery life, Tab 10.1 fares pretty well from what I've heard) You want the iPad or iPad 2.
You likely don't have an iPad 2. Maybe you've used one in the store, but you don't have an iPad 2. You bought a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and discovered it's slightly more useful than a Kindle- that much I'll believe.
And it sounds to me like Lollipop has been licked one too many times. Get a life.
As far as copyright or patent infringement goes I'm not qualified to speak to that other than to say if this causes Apple to step up it's game rather than increase it's filings for legal remedies it would be a great thing!!!! 😎
Unfortunately this is not the way to go about it. If you really cared about your customers and the future of iOS, you wouldn't try to sue the competition out of business. You'd instead create a better product line and stay one step ahead of the competition.
