Verizon Confirms Tiered Data Plans to Start in July

I sent customer service an email about this, telling them exactly how unhappy I am about this. They responded in a pretty detailed email, and one of the comments was:

"Keep in mind that the changes that are coming in the near future about Tier data plans will not affect you unless you add a new line to your wireless account. "

Now, I don't know if that means that when you upgrade, you won't be forced into a tiered data plan like the article states. I replied to them asking for clarification on exactly that, and I'll post when I hear. Last time I emailed VZW (it was about them getting rid of one-year contracts, which really angered me because I like to get new phones often), they replied within a day, and also called me to talk directly about it. So we'll see what happens with this.
