Well I was looking forward to this phone. But delay's, layoffs, wonder how quality control will be on this new device? 😕
Perhaps RIM truly is dead.
I think if RIM just pushed this device out now and upgraded to OS 7 later when it's ready, they may keep more consumers. The longer they wait the more they get trounced by the competition.

Hah, you said you were looking forward to this phone. Hah, good one, mang. Serisouly, you should be a comedian, I mean, I laughed, right? Nobody would notice if this phone didn't come out. Seriously. We have phones coming out that have 1.4Ghz processors, and RIM is offering us that? Laughable.

Maybe RIM/Blackberry needs to scale back on Hardware and focus on Software and license it other hardware developers.

Kind of like what Steve Jobs did with NeXT Computer's (The company he founded after leaving apple). This way they can push their product strong and get the product image back into people's mind. Then when ever the time is right they can start to make hardware again and the people that use their software wouldn't have any problem with adopting the new hardware because they have already learned and are dependent on the software, whether it be for enterprises are consumers.

Of course it would be way more complex than what I explained, but they should do something to that nature, imho.

Might be too late because they are bleeding customers by the thousands. To many touchscreens from too many manufacturers for RIM to contend with. Customers are switching to the cheapest 3" touch screen they can find whatever that might be. RIM thought they had loyal customers. ha

Oh it's too late! A worldwide global company having issues in the US and Latin american markets is bleeding only "customers by the thousands" and they should just close up shop now and give up. Forget the rest of the world. It's only the US that matters right? 🙄 Love the Doomesday scenario 🤣

Ok so RIM is not losing customers. Customers are not flocking to cheap touchscreens, and their base customers will wait in the wings for the new Bold. If RIM needs more time on the Bold then so be it. QNX will contend with Android and IOS in 2012 sometime. RIM does not need new customers just the ones they have now. Agreed.

RIM is a company that attacks what a smartphone is from a business perspective. Google and Apple built their operating systems for the masses and in my view at the right time. IOS and Android are really nice.

RIM has been riding the smartphone explosion wave pretty well as far as I am concerned considering what they are working with. They have been able to take a battle proven older OS thats stable and put cameras, multimedia players, web browsers, etc in and they have competed in a market that really didn't exist until a few short years ago.

The game has changed. Do I expect QNX to cause the downfall of Apple of Google when it comes out next year? Naw! There is a market for RIM and unless they keep making stupid mistake after stupid ...

Ah, but Obama carries a Blackberry by the way. He can't change what he wants on a whim either. My understanding from a good friend in government is that they have had the choice of an iphone or the usual blackberries for some time now. Contracts are through Verizon.
