& they wonder why Apple & Google OS are destroying them...

How in good conscience could these jokers at Microsoft start pulling support/services for devices currently being sold? What a joke! Something Google & Apple don't do. Hey Microsoft, if you want to be a winner in the marketplace, you should start doing what winners do. With this kind of thing, who would even want to gamble with WP7? Maybe WP8 comes out & you are SOL with 7? Stuff like this might be why they have less than 4% of the smartphone market share.

Actually my bad. Just read the latest April 2011 marketshare stats & Microsoft's OS even when combined with Nokia's Symbian OS marketshares are only 2% combined.

Wow, a measly 2%, damn shame. It'll be interesting to see what the marketshare looks like in 18-24 months. WP7 is still kinda new.

Apple is, and has long been, far worse and far more ruthless about cutting off support for legacy products.

Apple cut off all support for the original iPhone in 2010, only 3 years after introducing it, and with many still under contract for it. And Apple no longer support Mac OS 10.4 'Tiger' released in 2005.




On the other hand, Microsoft will continue to support Windows XP, released in 2001, until 2014.
