I can't think of a SINGLE THING Apple didn't fix.

Every single major problem or complaint people had with the iPhone or iOS devices in general have been fixed with this announcement.

It's going to be hard to be an Apple hater for a while.

too soon..people will find a way to come out and say their phone is better regardless of what Apple does.

I don't want to wait until Fall to get this update, I want it now!

I just hope it's not TOO much like the Android OS though.

Even if some of the features are similar, I'm still willing to bet the execution will not remind us of Android at all.

People say that Apple is behind the curve for wirless phone technology, but when they release a new iPhone or OS, they perfect it, and it's nothing short of amazing.

Apple never ceased to impress me, so I am really looking forward to iOS 5.

And every single one of these features, so far as I can tell comes from Android or Windows Phone 7....

You know what they say about imitation....

Yeah, making iOS more like Android and Windows Phone is something I support

i dont see the need for flash. its outdated, too processor heavy, and not meant for mobile. i think the solution to no flash is finding a better alternative.

I know that Apple's slogan is 'Do as I say because I know whats best' but how about letting the consumer choose? I know the risks, I know the dangers, I know the potential problems....I also know that there's a You Tube that I want to watch right the **** now but I can't because the manufacturer has arbitrarily decided that they know what's best for me....

True, I dont disagree with you. But that means you also know that as a consumer you do have a choice. A choice not buy apple. 🤣

You represent 1% of the population. The other 99% of ppl will start to install things and not understand why their phone is not performing up to par and why it is slow and then bash the phone. Destroying the reputation that apple has put a lot of effort into making.

I used to work for the cellphone industry and I heard countless times ppl calling in saying that the carrier suck because their phone broke? WTF? They don't blame Samsung, motorola, etc. No, they blame what they see first in their mind. They will blame apple for their misuse of the phone and you and I both know this.

"You represent 1% of the population"

Really? This why is Android (which supports Flash) outselling the Iphone, which doesn't?

It seems like a lot of people want Flash....

As far as 'you have the choice not to buy Apple'....funny how that argument somehow wasn't acceptable in the mid to late 90's when Microsoft was being sued for anti-trust violations.....people have ALWAYS had the choice not to buy Windows...yet somehow 'you don't have to buy Windows' was ruled an invalid argument.

And Apple's monopoly in online music and Mp3 players is currently approaching Microsoftian proportions....

Do you know that iTunes has more than 90% market share of online music sales? How is that NOT a monopoly?

you should know people didn buy androids for flash... some maybe but definetly not the majority. and though ideally it would be great that all consumers are knowledgable about computers and tech, mostly dont..lest we would not have the need for tech support..(havent you read about "jokes" about some silly problems consumers call tech for? ..well their not exactly jokes)

I just watched the video on Apple.com that shows iOS 5 in action, and all I have to say is "I CAN'T WAIT FOR FALL!!"

Yes some of the features are SIMILAR to Android phones, but the execution of them makes it 100% unique to Apple.

The only thing I hope I can disable is the camera shortcut on the lock screen. It doesn't take me more than 1 second to unlock the phone and press the camera app button.

Everything else looks awesome!

Now I'm just waiting for the announcmenet about the new iPhone itself!
