Whoever bought this phone doesn't do research prior to buying a new phone. This thing oughta have 2.2 by now.

whoever posted the above comments should research first cause this phone was released more than a year ago, and still getting an update after more than a year of being released is actually a good thing(plus the fact its on att thats why the update took longer, i believe this update was available a few months ago on the unlocked version)

Android 2.1 has been available for a while now. There's no reason this phone shouldn't have been upgraded to it a while back.

My Original Motorola Droid had 2.1 and was upgraded to Froyo in early summer of last year already and they are just now pushing 2.1 out to this phone.

They should have just discontinued this phone if the OS is so far behind the curve.

Or maybe they're just not obsessd with always having the latest and greatest... for a cheap $50 Android phone maybe they're willing to be a little out of date. What the hell is wrong with that?

What I see wrong is that you can get some top of the line Android smartphones for $50 if you find the right promotion.

My buddy just got the HTC Inspire for AT&T through Target mobile for $49.99. That sure as hell has a better OS than 2.1 on it, and it's at the $50 price point you mentioned.

I agree with TBone. There's nothing wrong with the X10. Most of my buddies who ended up with that phone (a penny at best buy) love it.

The processor wouldn't handle Froyo, I'm willing to bet on that. But for what the X10 is... it's a great phone. SE has consistantly makes great phones... even when flip and/or slide phones were the way of the world.
